Positive training doesn’t fail—application does. Knowing the reasons why this may be happening and how to fix them, will get your puppy back on track.

Common mistakes:

• Treats not motivating enough

• Asking for too much too fast

• Training when puppy is overtired

• Inconsistent reinforcement

What positive training really requires:

• Timing - Timing is perfect. We suggest training your puppy after they wake themselves up from their designated nap & once they're finished pottying.

• Management - Be consistent with your training. Allot a distraction free 5 -10 minutes a day to training desired behaviors, and getting your puppy to follow your cues.

• Environment control - environments that are not overly distracting.

• Adjusting expectations by age - Yes, your dog is smart, but their brains are still developing. Be patient with their growth and see the results you desire.

Some puppies need:

• Higher-value rewards

• Shorter sessions (5-15 minutes of training per day)

• More rest than repetition

Understanding your dog and their natural behavior is important. This way you do not tire out, and they don't remain defiant. Training takes a lot of patience, understanding and consistency.
